Week In The Life 2012-Wednesday

7:00  Another morning spent cuddling and watching the news! Had to take a weather picture! Yay for shorts weather!

8:00-9:30  Bath time!!  Brooklyn is first and them it's my turn!  Goober leaves for work. I have to go to the office this morning to print off patient statements and for a meeting, so I drop Brooklyn off with Grandma Andrews (Shawn's mom) who is at Tawnda's watching her kids!  Brooklyn is tired by now so down for a nap she goes!

10:00-12:00  Arrive at office, print my statements, and have a meeting!  Greatest part of meeting?  The beautiful flowers we all received, for administrative professionals week!  I leave the office, stop at home, throw in some ramen noodles, and head to Tawnda's to pick up my girl!

12:30  Eat my lunch and play with Brooklyn!

1:00-3:00  WORK WORK and... MORE WORK!  Have to get statements ready to go out in the mail!  By 3:00, Brooklyn is tired and ready for a nap!

3:00-5:00  More Work!!!!  I catch up on my favorite TV shows while working, Glee, New Girl, and Private Practice!

5:30  Brooklyn up!  We play and then it's time to eat!  Goober gets home from work, and we decide to order supper from the BBQ restaurant in town!  I get fried chicken and he decides on nachos!

6:30-8:00  Goober decides the lawn needs to be mowed, so while he does that, Brooklyn and I decide to play and work some more!  Brooklyn loves her crazy looking centipede and her feet!

8:00-10:00  We get ready to for bed!  One of my favorite times of the day is when I get to snuggle Brooklyn before bed!  She is so precious!

Grateful for... Beautiful flowers and bright sunshine!

Favorite moments... Wearing shorts and freshly mowed grass!

Week In The Life 2012-Tuesday

Our Tuesday started out just like most mornings do!

7:00  After waking a few times in the middle of the night (probably due to new surroundings), Brooklyn is up at her normal time! So we watch GMA, snuggle, and get ready for the day!  Then we walk back down to the Green Mill for a breakfast of scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, and fresh fruit!  Delicious!  Then back to the room!

8:30  We get ready to go to the pool!!!  Brooklyn's first time in the pool was great!  I thought she would be a little scared and cry because it was cold, but she really loved it!

9:30-12:30  Back to our room, Goober leaves for day two of the conference and Brooklyn goes down for nap #1!  I take a nice bath and then do some more work on the computer, and pack up our room in order to check out!  I then wake Brooklyn who has apparently is super tired from being up so much during the night, and feed her lunch!

12:30-3:30  We check out and since Goober still had to work until 3:30, Brooklyn and I decided to explore St. Cloud, so we did what any normal person would do, we went shopping!  We ended up getting a couple books, and a fun new dress for her dedication in May!

3:30  We pick up Goober, and head for home!  We pass by a scenic overlook and decide to turn around, and what do we find?  A little island in the middle of a lake.  But the real shocker... There were thousands of birds all over it!  For a moment I thought of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, Birds, where the birds attack the farmers. I don't think I have ever seen so many birds at once!  The picture is not close enough to really see them, but it was crazy!

6:00  Home Sweet Home!  We eat supper, and then we decide we need something sweet to eat, so Goober ran to the gas station, and came home with one of the most delicious brownies I have ever eaten!

7:30-10:00  The rest of the night is spent playing with Brooklyn, who had a serious case of the giggles, working more, and getting ready for bed!  We were super tired!!

Grateful for...  An amazing daughter and husband!

Favorite Moment....  Swimming in the pool with Brooklyn and listening to her giggles!

Week In The Life 2012-Monday

So my sister talked me into starting a new project called A Week In The Life where I chronicle what a typical week in our life is like!  I will apologiez in advance, as I haven't been great at taking many pictures, nor blogging it on time, but it has been fun to do!
So here is what our Monday looked like!

7:00  Brooklyn is up at her usual time!  She always wakes up in a wonderful mood!  The three of us spent the morning cuddling in bed and watching Good Morning America (our favorite news program!)

8:00  We decide it's time to get up, get showered, eat, feed Brooklyn (usually oatmeal for breakfast).

9:00 We leave the house, only this is not a typical Monday!  I would normally be off to my sister's to watch my niece's and nephews, but this week, Goober has a conference to go to in St. Cloud for work, so Brooklyn and I decided to join him, so we stop at the office for an adjustment, and it is off we go!

10:00-12:30  We spend the next 2 1/2 hrs in the car, Brooklyn slept almost the entire way there! One highlight of the drive, passing through the town of Kimball.  Which is the town where my grandma Burt grew up.  Sadly, I learned this from my husband, who is apparently a better listener than me, and who also knew that my grandmother's family walked from Kimball to Grand Rapids.  Not quite sure how far that is, but I know it is longer than I want to walk!

12:30  Yay!  We arrive in St. Cloud, where we check into our hotel room, eat lunch, and them feed Brooklyn!  Her first taste of prunes! Yummy!

1:00-3:00  Spent time together...  Admired one of the nicest rooms we had stayed in, checked out the view form our window looking over the Mississippi, and Goober spent a little time working on the computer.

3:00-6:00  Goober had to go down to his conference, so Brooklyn and I hung out in the room and walked down to the pool area. Then it was time for another nap, so I did some work my self while watching Ellen.  Then decided to nap myself!

6:00-10:30  We went down and had supper at the Green Mill with some of Goober's sales reps and then back to the room to relax and hang out. After putting Brooklyn to sleep, I did more work, played on Pinterest (which I am completely addicted to!), got ready for bed, then we watched Fast Five!  All in all, a great and relaxing day!

Grateful today for.... Having the flexibilty in my work to be able to go with my husband on his trip!

Favorite Moment...  Snuggling in the morning!  I love that we can spend that time in the morning being together!

Brooklyn-6 Months

I can't believe how big you have gotten in the last six months!  You amaze us everyday with how much you've grown and all the new things you can do!

At 6 months you weigh 15lbs are 27" long!

Your firsts in the last months include:

Your first St. Patricks day!

Your first night in your crib! That was a bit hard for mommy and daddy, but you did just fine!

You rolled from your back to your front finally!!!

You started drinking 5oz bottles!

Your first time on a slide! With a little help from daddy!

Your first Easter!  Grandma and Grandpa Volker came down the weekend before Easter to celebrate with us!

I love this picture!  You are trying so hard to get a good grip on a plastic egg that you got at your first Easter egg hunt at church!

Opening your Easter basket from Grandma and GrandpaVolker!

Dying Easter Eggs!  You were so interested in what was in the cup!

You even tried to eat your first egg that you dyed!

Your first time at Sibley Park! We all went to the park and had a picnic!

You started wearing 6-9 mos clothes!  Only because you are too tall for your 3-6 mos clothes! And you moved up to size 3 diapers!

Your Auntie Mandy, Uncle Brad, and Cousins Sammy and Tyler came to visit you Easter weekend!

With Sammy!

And Tyler!
